Deconstruction is a hot term, but what does it even mean? Does deconstruction always lead to deconversion? Or can people “deconstruct” their faith and actually reconstruct their faith to be stronger and more biblical? Is deconstruction a good or bad thing? What if we’re wrestling with our beliefs and wanting to deconstruct? How should we go about it? What if we know someone who is questioning or rejecting Christiainity? How can we support them? Most importantly, how does the Bible play into all of this?   Connect with us: www.dailygracepodcast.com www.thedailygraceco.com https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/ https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/   Questions? We all complain, right? So what do we do with verses like “do all things without grumbling” (Phil 2:14)? Does this mean we’re supposed to gloss over our frustrations and just smile all the time? Or is there a way to complain without sinning? Today, we talk about the difference between godly lament and sinful complaining. The pattern of lament actually includes complaint; in our lament, God uses our complaints to knit our hearts to His. Lauren helps us see how this can play out in our everyday lives.     LITURGICAL PRAYERS TO USE FROM LAUREN: “My life is not my own; I was bought at a price.” “I belong to You, God.” “Father, use my life any way you choose.” “O Lord, You know.” “O Lord, I need You.”   Connect with us: www.dailygracepodcast.com www.thedailygraceco.com https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/ https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/   Questions? We’re all busy, and yet, we’re all called to discipleship. Yes, what we see in Scripture is that disciples make disciples. Discipleship is not just for those in vocational ministry; it’s not just something “super” Christians do. It is something we are all called to pursue! Maybe we know there are many benefits of these types of relationships, but we don’t know how to pursue them in our busy lives. Remember: discipleship can look different, and there are practical things you can do to make it happen!   Connect with us: www.dailygracepodcast.com www.thedailygraceco.com https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/ https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/   Questions? What comes to mind when you hear “spiritual warfare”? Are you apathetic? Are you consumed by it? Are you confused? As believers, we need to have a biblical approach to this very real spiritual war that we’re all facing. We need to go to God’s Word to see what it tells us about Satan and his demons and how they work in our world. Scripture calls us to be prepared to engage in battle, and we need to know how we can practically do this in our day to day lives.   Connect with us: www.dailygracepodcast.com www.thedailygraceco.com https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/ https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/   Questions? The gospel embodies the heart of Christ, but these are the actual words Jesus offered to describe His own heart: “I am gentle and lowly in heart”. Jesus is telling His people, then and now, that He is tender, welcoming, and accessible. And good news: His heart extends to us today, in the face of our own sin and suffering. Understanding the heart of Christ impacts how we live. It confronts our shame and offers us hope. Don’t ever forget this: His heart is for sinners and sufferers.    Connect with us: www.dailygracepodcast.com www.thedailygraceco.com https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/ https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/   Questions? Does a peacemaker create peace by avoiding contentious issues? Do they keep silent and remain passive in order to maintain the peace? In Scripture, we see that believers are called to be peacemakers; however, we see that this is actually not a call to silence, avoidance, and passivity. In the Bible, peace is not just the absence of conflict; it’s the presence of Jesus. So we don’t pretend everything is fine or avoid hard things in order to keep the peace. Instead, we make peace by pointing to the One who is Peace.   Connect with us: www.dailygracepodcast.com www.thedailygraceco.com https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/ https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/   Questions? I’m bad at praying. It doesn't make a difference. It’s selfish and boring. God doesn’t care about my prayers. I don’t need to pray. These are lies many Christians believe about prayer. Instead of seeing prayer for the gift it is, we feel confused, overwhelmed, and disengaged. Maybe there’s fear, bitterness, and guilt around prayer. The only way to overcome lies is by knowing and applying truth found in Scripture. There can be joy and excitement as we experience intimacy with God through prayer.   Connect with us: www.dailygracepodcast.com www.thedailygraceco.com https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/ https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/   Questions? Spiritual disciplines: life-giving or life-sucking? Many of us have feelings of dread when we think about spiritual disciplines. We think about all the things we “have to” or “should do” as believers and then think about all the ways we fail to do those things. We know they’re good for us, but they feel too hard! Our understanding and approach to spiritual disciplines matters a lot. They should be life-giving practices that lead to spiritual growth, true joy, and deepened intimacy with Christ.   Connect with us: www.dailygracepodcast.com www.thedailygraceco.com https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/ https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/   Questions? Do you pay attention to creation? Like the wildflowers and the changing of the seasons. Whether or not we’re nature people, we are called to “consider the lilies of the field”. But why? God is showing us something (without words) in nature that He reveals (with words) in Scripture! He uses both His creation and His Word, to teach us more about who He is.
