She has 2 bio daughters + 1 adopted son from China, and all 3 have Treacher Collin Syndrome. Corin shares openly about the challenges and joys in raising children with special needs. Her and her husband not only had to learn the new language of medical jargon, but they had to learn American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate with their children! She even discusses how the local church can love on families within the body in similar life circumstances. But not only that, we talk at length about adoption! Like all adoption stories, it is a beautiful testimony that is a tangible representation of the gospel. Even if you’re not a parent of a child with special needs or do not feel led to adopt, we hope this conversation will encourage you to respond to your costly adoption into the family of God by being an active member of a local church that rallies around families in these life seasons.   Connect with us: www.dailygracepodcast.com www.thedailygraceco.com https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/ https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/   Questions? What is the trinity?  How can one God exists as three persons? The doctrine of the Trinity is a fundamental doctrine and foundational for the Christian faith, but we in our finite minds cannot fully comprehend it. However, this does not mean that we should not seek to know Him at all. In this conversation, we discuss some parameters that will help us understand the trinity. We talk about how our God is one essence and three persons.  We talk about how each person of the trinity is fully God and exists simultaneously. We also dive into how the trinity actually models how we should live today as believers in a local church. Perfect unity and diversity exist in the Godhead, and all of this compels our hearts to delight in Him.  We believe it’s important for all believers to have a proper understanding of the trinity, and we pray this conversation helps!   Resources mentioned in this episode: Westminster Shorter Catechism  Delighting in the Trinity by Michael Reeves  Trinity Study (FREE) in the Daily Grace Co. app   Scripture mentioned in this episode: Titus 2 2 Timothy 3:16 Deuteronomy 6:4-5 Psalm 34:8 Exodus 20:2-4 2 Timothy 2:13 1 Peter 1:2 Ephesians 1:2-14 John 6:28 John 1:1 John 17:20-23 1 Corinthians 12:12-13 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Ephesians 5 1 Peter 3:8 Colossians 2:9 Romans 8:11 Matthew 3   Connect with us: Email us at podcast@thedailygraceco.com Download The Daily Grace app: on iOS or Android Visit The Daily Grace Co. for beautiful products for the whole family that will equip you on your journey to knowing and loving God more.  Subscribe to The Daily Grace Newsletter and receive free Bible study resources in your inbox.  Like The Daily Grace Co. on Facebook.  Follow on Instagram for the latest updates on the podcast and The Daily Grace Co.  Engage with our Facebook community, “Lamp and Light”. What Are Your Idols?

Tuesday May 21, 2019

Tuesday May 21, 2019

What do you value, honor, and treasure? What consumes your time, energy, and thoughts? Idolatry is not just worshipping a golden calf on a physical shrine. Idols can be good things that become ultimate things that capture our heart’s affections. This is why idolatry is actually a worship problem. We are not hopeless in this -- there is a practical remedy for our idolatry problem.   Resources mentioned in this episode: Ep. 15 A Life of Worship by Daily Grace Counterfeit Gods by Tim Keller Ep. 12 Social Media & the Gospel by Daily Grace “8 Signs Your Christianity is Too Comfortable” by The Gospel Coalition The Weight of Glory by C.S. A Life of Worship

Tuesday May 14, 2019

Tuesday May 14, 2019

On today’s episode, we talk about worship. Did you know that you are a worshipper? Pastor Paul David Tripp says, “Human beings by their very nature are worshipers … Everybody worships; it’s just a matter of what, or whom, we serve.” As believers, we want to engage in authentic worship as prescribed by God in His Word. And as we study Scripture, it becomes very clear that worship is not relegated to a particular time or location -- it’s not just the music portion of our Sunday services in church! It is actually all encompassing; the purpose of everything we do is worship. Worship is actually the means by which we glorify God and enjoy Him forever! Our prayer is that this conversation will be edifying and encourage you to see all of life as worship.   Resources mentioned in this episode: Westminster Shorter Catechism Desiring God by John Piper Ep. 1 Why You Need Theology by Daily Grace Ep. 4 The Story of Scripture by Daily Grace Ep. 9 Your Identity in Christ by Daily Grace Ep. 18 On the Theology of Identity by Journeywomen Podcast Ep. 7 Preaching the Gospel to Yourself by Daily Grace   Scripture mentioned in this episode: John 4:24 Revelation 4:11 Romans 11:36 Genesis 3 Genesis 1:28 Genesis 9:1 John 1:12 Ephesians 4:1-5 Psalm 24:8 Romans 12:1-2 Revelation 22:4 Revelation 21 Revelation 7:9-17 Isaiah 65:22 1 Corinthians 10:31 John 4:23-24 James 1:17 Colossians 3:23 Matthew 15:8 Micah 6:6-8 Matthew 25:35-40 Psalm 103:1 Hebrews 13:15-16 Deuteronomy 6:4-5   Connect with us:   Subscribe to Daily Grace: on iOS, go to our iTunes page and click subscribe.  On Android, click this podcast RSS feed link and choose your podcast app.  If needed, you can copy this link directly into your favorite podcast app (like Stitcher or Overcast).  Or follow us on Spotify!   We would love if you took a few minutes to leave us an iTunes review to help spread the word about Daily Grace!  We want to invite more women into our conversations!   Download The Daily Grace app: for iOS, click here to download.  On Android, click here to download. What is discipleship and evangelism? Is there a systematic way to do both of these things or is it a more organic process? Are these things reserved for those on church staff? What about the stay-at-home mama with babies and toddlers or the single college student struggling through Algebra? Our guest, Tamzen Baker, shares personal stories that show us that discipleship and evangelism should be (and can be!) part of the lives of all believers. She talks about how to combat feelings of not being equipped enough to disciple someone and what to do when you just don’t know the answers to questions you may get about the Bible. We hope this conversation encourages you on your walk -- if you are a disciple of Jesus, you are called to disciple and proclaim the good news!   Resources mentioned in this episode: The Gospel Comes with a House Key by Rosaria Butterfield A Praying Life by Paul Miller NIV Chronological Bible How to Study Your Bible by Kay Arthur Women of the Word by Jen Wilkin Word of Life (FREE study) in The Daily Grace Co. app   Scripture mentioned in this episode: 2 Corinthians 2:16 Luke 9:57-62 Matthew 7:13-14 Luke 9:23 Connect with us: Subscribe to Daily Grace: on iOS, go to our iTunes page and click subscribe.  On Android, click this podcast RSS feed link and choose your podcast app.  If needed, you can copy this link directly into your favorite podcast app (like Stitcher or Overcast).  Or follow us on Spotify! Self-Care & The Gospel

Tuesday Apr 30, 2019

Tuesday Apr 30, 2019

Self-care is a trendy topic. If self-care is just taking intentional steps to cultivate your physical, mental, and emotional health, what’s wrong with it? This topic isn’t so black and white. God created us as finite beings, and the limits that He has ordained are for our good. Rest is a gift! However, true rest according to God’s Word is not the same as what our culture promotes under the label of “self-care”. We’ll talk about what it means to have a healthy, biblical view of self-care, and we’ll even offer practical tips to engage in true rest that will refresh your soul in the Lord. DISCLAIMER: In this episode, we mention the term “mental health.” This term has a broad range of usage, and we are not using it to refer to mental health in any clinical sense. This podcast episode is not intended to treat or diagnose any mental health conditions. If you have a clinical mental health condition, or think you might, we encourage you to see a licensed mental health professional and connect with your local pastor. Social Media & The Gospel

Tuesday Apr 23, 2019

Tuesday Apr 23, 2019

Are you on social media? Whether it’s microblogging on Instagram, staying connected to extended family on Facebook, or vlogging your morning routine on Youtube, a variety of options to engage on digital platforms is at your fingertips. Even if you’re not engaged on any of these platforms, social media has shaped the culture and its impact is far reaching. It could even be argued that this topic impacts everyone, regardless of personal use of social media! But it’s also important to realize that this impact isn’t always positive (although there are benefits!). We’ll discuss potential dangers related to social media from three angles: its impact on how we relate to God, to ourselves, and to others. But don’t worry -- we also discuss the benefits and offer practical tips on how to use social media in a healthy way that brings gospel hope others.   Connect with us: www.dailygracepodcast.com www.thedailygraceco.com https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/ https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/   Questions? Raised With Christ

Tuesday Apr 16, 2019

Tuesday Apr 16, 2019

He is risen! Easter is about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The death and resurrection of Christ is central to the Christian faith. And as D.A. Carson said, “The entire Bible pivots on one weekend in Jerusalem about two thousand years ago.” Believers shouldn’t brush over the empty tomb—no, we can believe in the gospel because the resurrection happened, just as He said it would! The resurrection should change the way that we live on this side of eternity. Because of our union with Christ, we can live in light of the hope of the resurrection! It is this very hope that empowers us to live radical and countercultural lives. Are our decisions reflecting the hope that we have in the resurrection?   Connect with us: www.dailygracepodcast.com www.thedailygraceco.com https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/ https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/   Questions? She unexpectedly lost a child in a tragic accident, unexpectedly lost her husband due to an unknown heart condition, yet those who know Maritza will describe her as joyful. Her story is a powerful testimony of our great God who makes beauty from ashes (Isa. 61:3). Maritza is a sweet sister in Christ and active member of Sojourn Community Church – Woodstock alongside Joanna. She is a widow and joyful mama of five adult children (plus one in heaven). She is a busy bee working as a defect and production manager at AT&T, a Chaplain for Marketplace Chaplains, and an employee at a yarn shop (where she also teaches others how to knit). May her story remind us that our God is completely sovereign and completely good.  May her story encourage us by pointing to the unchanging nature of our God. We are grateful for her vulnerability and willingness to share her story, and in response, may we worship our God for who He is.   Resources mentioned in this episode: Grief Share Good Rosie by Kate DiCamillo Discipline: The Glad Surrender by Elisabeth Elliot No Graven Image by Elisabeth Elliot   Scripture mentioned in this episode: 2 Corinthians 2:9 Psalm 46:10 Lamentations 3:21-26 Zephaniah 3:17 Philemon   Connect with us: Subscribe to Daily Grace: on iOS, go to our iTunes page and click subscribe.  On Android, click this podcast RSS feed link and choose your podcast app.  If needed, you can copy this link directly into your favorite podcast app (like Stitcher or Overcast).  Or follow us on Spotify! Your Identity in Christ

Tuesday Apr 02, 2019

Tuesday Apr 02, 2019

Who are you?  Does your life matter? Your identity informs everything you do, and the world, our flesh, and the Devil want us to misplace our identities.  We anchor our identity in all the wrong places—what we do, what we love, what others have said about us, or even some hidden strength or identity within ourselves—but these things are not enough. We find out identity in Christ alone, and when we anchor our sense of self in who we are in Christ, every aspect of our lives will be transformed.     Connect with us: www.dailygracepodcast.com www.thedailygraceco.com https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/ https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/   Questions?
